Parking will be available at two areas for the event.
- Signal Park (Cnr of Queen Street and Marine Tce)
- Barnard Park Central (entry off Carey Street) Access only from 4:30am til 6:30am and then from 3:00pm onwards
TO PARK IN THESE AREAS A GOLD COIN DONATION IS REQUIRED.
Please note – if you choose to park on Barnard Park Central you will only have access from 4:30am til 6:30am. After this time you will not have access to leave the car park until 3:00pm. Please make sure you are aware of this prior to choosing to park on Barnard Park Central. Access will not be restricted at Signal Park.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE VERGE AROUND MARINE TCE PARKING INSPECTORS WILL BE OUT AND ABOUT AND YOU WILL GET A TICKET
Athlete Dinner Tickets – SOLD OUT
Tickets to the Athlete Dinner are sold out. If any more tickets become available they will be for sale at Athlete Services on Friday 10th May between 9am and 6pm or at the Door of the Dinner from 6:00pm.
The ticket gives you access to the athlete dinner that takes place between 6:00pm and 7:30pm on Saturday 11th May 2013. At 7:30pm once the dinner is finished the doors will be open to general public for the awards ceremony and the after party.

Road Closure Information Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May 2013
As part of the Annual SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 will take place in Busselton on Saturday 11th May 2013. The event will see 1600 individuals and 500 teams compete in the event over a 1.9km swim, 90.1km cycle and 21.1km run.
The event will be staged once again from Barnard Park and will start at 6.45am adjacent to the jetty. For competitors to participate in complete safety there will be full and part road closures on the cycle course route as shown on the attached maps.
ROAD CLOSURES
FRIDAY 10th MAY 2013:

There will also be road closures on Friday 10th of May between 2.00pm and 5.00pm for the SunSmart Kids Triathlon. GEOGRAPHE BAY RD TO FORD RD, GEORGETTE ST, CAREY ST AND MILNE STREETS BETWEEN MARINE TCE & GEOGRAPHE BAY RD. This should cause little disruption to residents.
SATURDAY 11th MAY 2013:

GEOGRAPHE BAY ROAD EAST & SCOUT ROAD will be closed from 4.00am to 5pm.

GUERIN ST, CAREY ST and parts of NAVIGATION WAY & PEEL TCE will be closed from 6am until 4pm. This also applies to Layman Rd and Tuart Drive.

During the event, residents wishing to cross Guerin St should cross at MARINE TCE. To cross CAREY ST, please do so at ADELAIDE ST, KENT ST OR FAIRBAIRN RD which are managed crossings. Whilst access to your residence is unrestricted, the cooperation of all residents affected by the closures is sought to only use the roads for emergency and necessary travel.

We also kindly ask that LAYMAN RD be used as little as possible between 7am and 4pm and please follow instructions as directed by traffic managers and volunteer course marshals. For residents on GEOGRAPHE BAY RD (BETWEEN SCOUT RD & GUERIN ST) please exit with caution to your nearest corner to the east as Cyclists will be travelling west to east on this road. You will need to travel in the right lanes to do this, in the same direction as cyclists. The event starts at 6.45am and will include an evening function on Barnard Park East. Due to an increase in competitors at the 2013 SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton event, Athlete Check-in and Bike Check in will now take place from 9:00am til 6:00pm on Friday 10th May 2013 at Barnard Park Busselton. Please ensure you take note of the following:
ATHLETE CHECK IN PROCEDURE
- It is compulsory for all participants to register on Friday 10th May 2013 between 9am and 6pm only, at the Athlete Check-in marquee within the Expo area on Barnard Park. Please make sure you plan your trip to Busselton to make it to registration on time. No early or late registrations will be permitted. ALL individuals
- ALL team competitors must register betwenn the above stated times.
- The registration marquee will be located in the Registration and Expo Area.
- All participants must bring with them some form on PHOTO ID or TA membership Card. You cannot register without identification.

From Bondi to Busso – Bondi Lifeguard to take on SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton
From Bondi to Busso – Professional Lifeguard Andrew “Reidy” Reid will head to WA to take on SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton to be held on Saturday 11th May 2013.
“I’m really looking forward crossing our beautiful country to race at the SunSmart Ironman 70.3, everyone keeps telling me what an amazing place it is and I just can’t wait to see it for myself” says Reidy.
While in Perth, Reidy will be working with Triathlon WA to promote the message of the importance of being healthy and active. Reidy will attend a number of Perth based and Busselton based schools to talk to students about the sport, the SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon and how to stay healthy. Reidy will be at the finish line of the SunSmart Kids Triathlon held on Friday 10th May 2013 at Barnard Park in Busselton to greet all the participants and to present the kids with their medals.
Reidy will join over 3000 participants who will take on the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton Triathlon, Part of the SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon on the 11th May 2013.
The SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon comprises a series of 3 day events culminating in the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Triathlon on Saturday 11th May 2013. In lead up to the festival, professional athletes travelling from all around the country will impart some of their esteemed knowledge and skills to local coaches, schools and triathletes. The Festival begins on Thursday 9th May with the Chat with the Pros. Friday morning is host to the Charity Breakfast at The Goose Café, followed by the Village Expo opening at 9am exhibiting local and national retailers’. There are numerous activities for all the community to join in during the day. Friday afternoon sees the SunSmart Kids Triathlon, which forms part of the triathlon calendar for many of the local and visiting children. Saturday is race day for the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 and Teams event. The festival concludes on Saturday evening with the Athlete Function/Medal Ceremony. In 2012 the festival brought more than 12,000 tourists to the seaside town of Busselton for a weekend of exciting racing and community engagement.
SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton is currently the largest event of its type in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere. In 2013 the event will attract more than 1600 individuals and 500 teams, totalling more than 3000 competitors participating at the event. Along with this over 15,000 spectators will line the foreshore of Busselton to cheer on the athletes over the 1.9km swim, 90.1km bike and 21.1km run course. Busselton has been the home of this event since 2002 and has continued to grow from year to year.

Triathlon WA Announces New Prize Pool For SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton 2013
Triathlon Western Australia is delighted to announce the new prize pool for 2013 SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton. Below outlines the prize pool that is on offer.
SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton has a total prize pool of $19,000 and will be allocated as outlined below.
PLEASE NOTE: To be eligible for any of the below prizes you must be a confirmed FINISHER of the event.
Professional Category – $15,000 AUD
Only Professional Athletes competing in the Professional category and eligible for the prize money. The prize money is split as follows:

Bookings are now being accepted for the Retail Expo at SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon.
As you may be aware, the 2013 SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon incorporating the SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton Triathlon will be taking place on Friday 10th – Sunday 12th May 2013. The event continues to grow annually with more than 3000 participants to take part in the event in 2013. Together with our event partners, contractors and sponsors, we will once again improve and increase both the profile and the operations of the event for 2013. For the first time in the event history, entries to the event sold out in less than 3 hours. It is estimated that more than 15,000 people will descend on the coastal South West town of Busselton for the weekend.
As a provider of sporting/fitness equipment and merchandise we would like to offer you the opportunity to display your products at our event in our Expo Village. The Expo Village is situated on Barnard Park on the foreshore in Busselton and serves as a hub of activity from early on Friday 10th May through to the evening of Saturday 11th May 2013.
