Race Rules

TRIATHLON AUSTRALIA RACE COMPETITION RULES

This event is run in accordance with the Triathlon Australia Race Competition Rules. Additional special rules will apply as per the WTC 70.3 IRONMAN guidelines.

All athletes are expected to be familiar with the TARCR and WTCASR. If you have any queries regarding any aspect of competing or any of the rules you should discuss with Technical Officials at registration on Friday afternoon.

The specific rules for all sectors which will be enforced at this event will be explained at the COMPULSARY briefing.

Technical Officials will be POSITIONED throughout the course including the transition area, on motorcycles on the bike course and also on the run course to ensure all race rules are observed. The Technical Official will advise the competitor of the reason for any penalty or infringement issued. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they can hear and  understand what the penalty or infringement is for and what the nature of the penalty is.
